Late Summer Academy Ceramics at MKH
What's it about?
During the first three days, participants can either tackle large-scale ceramic projects or take time to try out more complex techniques, such as modeling heads, throwing on the wheel, or building free-form objects. Beginners without specific plans or prior knowledge are also invited to gain insight into the multifaceted world of ceramics and calmly get to know various techniques and types of clay. Participants will be individually supported by workshop leader Josseline Engeler in realizing their projects. This summer, the focus is on learning and deepening various techniques. Theoretical expertise on building techniques, pottery, glazing, and firing processes will be provided in spoken and written form. The resulting objects – after being dried and bisque-fired – will be glazed together on a fourth workshop day and placed in the kiln for the glaze firing...
