UNESCO World Heritage Tour: In Bodinggraben

Saturday 15 August · 07:30Parkplatz Scheiblingau, Molln · oberoesterreich

What's it about?

Kalkalpen National Park is the most important forest national park in the Alps. With its designation as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, it is part of a Europe-wide project for the protection of the last remaining primeval beech forests. These ancient forests with their diversity are a natural treasure. Primeval forest species, such as the Alpine longhorn beetle and the white-backed woodpecker, find a home here. Bodinggraben is considered the most beautiful valley head in Kalkalpen National Park. We hike through the wild forests of the former hunting grounds of the Counts of Lamberg and learn how the valley got its name.
