What's it about?

Domenico Antonio Carlone adorned the church interior with his calm coloring and magnificent stucco pilasters. The frescoes by Bartolomeo Altomonte in the presbytery represent a highlight of Baroque church painting in Upper Austria. The chancel screen made by Andreas Ferdinand Lindemayr is considered one of the most beautiful wrought iron works in Austria. Artistic sensibility and piety allowed our house of worship to emerge so magnificently.North of the church in the so-called "Dechantstöckel" is the treasury of the former Spital Abbey. Charters, paraments, and liturgical vessels were kept there. Now, particularly valuable sculptures, vestments, and historically significant documents concerning the abbey and the two churches can be viewed in the treasury. The crypt under the presbytery of the collegiate church was the burial place of the canons of Spital am Pyhrn. From January 25 to May 15, 1945, the entire Hungarian gold treasure was here...
