Hirschlos´n - Hirsch Rutting in the National Park

What's it about?

In the Kalkalpen National Park, red deer live freely all year round. In autumn, it is the mating season - then powerful calls echo through the mountain forests at dusk. The stags seek the proximity of female animals, and there is a contest of strength with rivals. Accompanied by a National Park ranger, you will experience the loud natural spectacle of the Hirschbrunft (deer rut). Meeting point: Villa Sonnwend, 4575 Roßleithen, Mayrwinkl 80 Time & Duration: 16:00 to 21:00 - approximately 5 hours (including 1 hour of walking) Ranger: Rudolf Mayrhofer Info: Suitable for children from 8 years old. Free participation with the Pyhrn-Priel Card for the scheduled dates. Equipment: Weatherproof, warm clothing, hiking shoes, flashlight, sitting pad, and binoculars. Please note that dogs are not allowed on this tour.
