WITH SPECIAL MUSIC: Organ and trumpet (Klaus Neuhauser and Günther Leutgeb) During these masses, the brought herb bouquets will be blessed according to old tradition. The old custom developed from legends about Mary. On this day, the healing and protective powers of nature are particularly emphasized. The blessed herb bouquets are then taken home and usually placed in the Herrgottswinkel/cross or on one of the doors of the house or hung on the house wall. Herbs are mixed into the feed for sick cattle for blessing. When smudging, some of the dried herbs can also be mixed with the frankincense.
