The almost pristine and unchanged nature and landscape along Marlen Haushofer's school route invite visitors to relive and learn about the author's childhood through excerpts from her texts. Starting from the church in Frauenstein, we will hike with ranger Erni Kirchweger into the Effertsbach Valley up to Marlen's birthplace, where Erni now lives with her family. The yellow forest house by the stream and the mountain meadow, considered the most beautiful place in the world, form a childhood realm of unique happiness for little Meta. Along the way, we also gain insight into Marlen's family history and her life as an adult. If you have developed an interest in Haushofer's works, here are three book recommendations from Erni: "Brav sein ist schwer" (children's book); "Himmel, der nirgendwo endet"; "Die Wand".
