Hirschlos´n - Hirschrut in the National Park

What's it about?

In the Kalkalpen National Park, red deer live freely all year round. In autumn, it is the mating season - then powerful calls echo through the mountain forests at dusk. The stags seek the proximity of female animals, and there is a contest of strength with rivals. Accompanied by a National Park ranger, you will experience the loud natural spectacle of the Hirschrut. Meeting point: Parkplatz Scheiblingau (about 20 km from Molln towards Breitenau) Time & Duration: 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM Duration approx. 4-5 hours (pure walking time 2½ hours, slight incline on forest road) Ranger: Eric Mitterhauser Info: Suitable for children from 8 years old. Free participation at fixed dates with Pyhrn-Priel Card. Equipment: Weatherproof, warm clothing, hiking shoes, flashlight, sitting pad, and binoculars. Please note that dogs are not allowed on this tour.
