What's it about?
Folkshilfe has come to stay. With their fifth studio album "bunt" (colorful), the band processes the highs and lows of the past years: from dark phases of loss and grief, through their success, band friendship, all-too-human experiences, and love. The result is a colorful cross-section of life that they present on stage. "Besides all the beautiful moments together as a band and encounters off stage, the death of my father was definitely the most impactful experience of my life," says singer Florian Ritt. "Our songs allow me to confront all facets of life in a different form once again. Everything that hits us daily finds a place of processing in our songs." Folkshilfe do what they have been known for for over 10 years: pop music that defies categorization. Their unique mix of "Quetschn" (Austrian accordion), synthesizer, and dialect reaches people of all ages and life stages. At the latest with winning the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2026 for "Album of the Year" for their work "bunt," folkshilfe are riding an unstoppable wave of success. They not only excite radio audiences but also fill halls and open-air venues across the German-speaking region with their sold-out concerts.
