Gobelwarte

The spectacular steel construction of the Gobelwarte was newly built in 2018. At an altitude of 484 m above sea level, the 21 m high viewing platform offers a fantastic 360-degree panoramic view, to the north of the hilly landscape of the Mühlviertel, to the south of the Alps, to the west of the Machland and to the east of Grein and the Strudengau. The Gobelwarte is located directly on the Donausteig long-distance hiking trail and is wonderfully suitable as an excursion destination. Architect Claus Pröglhöf from architecture and beyond ZT was entrusted with the planning of the structure, which was renewed in 2018. The twisted shape of the supports is intended to evoke the elegance and grace of a dancer. The vibrations felt on the platform are intentional and result from this rotation of the construction.
