Gallery on the first floor Free admission When the mük in Freistadt celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, it also marks another milestone: 10 years of Galerie im mük! This will be commemorated with a special exhibition featuring high-profile artists in July, August, and September – under the annual motto: "Luckily, there's mük". Approximately every two months, mük presents an artist with a solo exhibition. In summer and December, themed group exhibitions are organized – such as "glasklar" (crystal clear) last summer, where several glass artists showcased their different approaches to the material. Since October 2016, around 60 exhibitions have taken place. Exhibiting at mük is highly sought after, and the waiting list is long. The Charm of Diversity Diversity is a hallmark of mük, and the exhibitions have been as varied as the products in the sales areas across the three floors, each carefully curated by Carin Fürst, supported by Karin Geishofer, to showcase the art objects in the best light. This year, the two curators look back and present their favorite pieces from the past 10 years. Choosing from such a wealth of beautiful works was truly difficult for them. Highlights from 10 Years The exhibition now features a balanced mix of two- and three-dimensional works, made from various materials, combining aesthetics and humor, from exhibitions held longer or more recently, by female and male artists. Visitors to mük can look forward to these highlights from a decade. As always, the artworks on display are available for purchase. However, since only one piece per person is allowed this time, all exhibits will remain in mük until the end of the exhibition. The exhibition begins on Wednesday, July 1, and runs until Saturday, September 26.
