Guided Tour of the Castle Ruin and the Upper Austria Castle Museum Reichenstein on the Day of Monuments
What's it about?
On a prominent granite rock in the idyllic Waldaist Valley lies the former Renaissance castle Burg Reichenstein with the Upper Austria Castle Museum. The tour begins in the museum and then continues through the castle ruin with a knight's hall, a high plateau, and the Gothic castle chapel with the marble monument of the knight Haym. Legends and stories about the castle and the Middle Ages accompany the walk. The event takes place as part of the Day of Monuments. Afterwards, a coffee and cake buffet invites for a cozy conclusion. Children from 6 years old accompanied by adults are warmly welcome (please specify when registering). Excluding museum admission (approx. adult €9.00 / reduced €7.00 / Upper Austria family €16.00). Location: Burg Reichenstein, Reichenstein 1, 4230 Tragwein. First session: September 27, 2026, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Second session: September 27, 2026, 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Course times: Sat 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM. Instructor: Mag.a Lucia Gusenbauer, Museum Curator. Price: €12.00 / AK price: €10.80.
