What's it about?
The duck race of the Seniorenring at the parish courtyard in Esternberg is a heartwarming community event for young and old. During a traditional duck race, hundreds of numbered rubber ducks are released into the water and drift along a stream until the first reaches the finish line. Participants purchase ticket numbers in advance and cheer for their duck – whoever has the winning duck can look forward to a prize. Organized by the Seniorenring, which advocates for the interests of older people throughout Austria, this event combines fun, sociability, and a sense of community. The parish courtyard of Esternberg in the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel offers a charming setting: the municipality is located near the Bavarian border amidst idyllic scenery.
