On the middle slope of Pöstlingberg, adjacent to the Urfahrwänd Nature Reserve and offering a magnificent view of the city, the Linz Zoo invites visitors to an unforgettable animal and nature experience and provides a peaceful retreat for those seeking relaxation amidst lush green landscapes. 600 exotic and native animals from about 110 species captivate visitors on the nearly 4-hectare grounds. While in the beautifully designed and maintained outdoor enclosures, meerkats, zebras, red pandas, antelopes, kangaroos, parrots, and many more animals frolic, crocodiles, giant snakes, and monkeys enjoy their modern home in the tropical house. The House of Biodiversity, with its many small exotic inhabitants such as poison dart frogs, zebra finches, monitor lizards, and tarantulas, as well as the zoo's educational center, guarantees fun, amazement, and a memorable experience for the whole family alongside numerous other attractions. In the new petting park, you will find, in addition to many native and exotic domestic and farm animals, a petting area with dwarf goats, an 'Almhütte' (mountain hut) with a view, and a rabbit tunnel with two special viewing points.
