Spice Odyssey: A Journey into the World of Chili
What's it about?
The exhibition 'Capsicum – The World of Chili and Paprika' offers a compact insight into the botany, history, and culinary diversity of the Capsicum genus. It shows how wild chilies from Central and South America have been cultivated over millennia to produce paprika, pepperoncini, and countless chili varieties, illustrating their 'triumphal march' around the world. In addition to fascinating cultural and historical aspects, the exhibition also explores the use of chili in cuisine and, of course, the effect of capsaicin, which gives chili its spiciness. Open from May 9th to November 1st at the Botanical Garden (outdoor area) Cost: Admission to the Botanical Garden only.
