What's it about?

The musical based on Roald Dahl's successful novel tells the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life, and it vividly depicts both childlike anarchy and the power of imagination. In German with surtitles. Matilda has won nearly 50 awards and captivates audiences of all ages worldwide with energetic dance numbers, witty songs, and fantastic roles. Matilda is a girl with remarkable intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She is bullied by her under-educated parents but impresses her teacher Miss Honey, who quickly recognizes Matilda's extraordinary abilities. However, the principal Agathe Knüppelkuh hates children and enjoys punishing all who do not follow her rules. But Matilda is as brave as she is clever: Knüppelkuh finds her match. A joyful girl-power fun show, for which the National Theatre selected nineteen children from 300 applicants to shake the grand stage of the music theatre alongside the Linz musical ensemble.
