Exhibition "Hans Greil - Master of a Generation. Pioneer of Woodcarving in the Salzkammergut." Hans Greil (1845-1909), teacher and first director of the Hallstatt Woodworking School and later the Ebensee Woodworking School, was not only a renowned educator but also a well-known wood sculptor and carver whose significance extended far beyond the Salzkammergut. Greil created altars, such as the high altar in Litschau and the altar of the Wallsee Castle Chapel. Among other works, he also designed the model for the Franz Carl Fountain in Bad Ischl. The Stations of the Cross on Kalvarienberg and the tabernacle in the Catholic parish church in Ebensee also originate from Hans Greil. Museum.Ebensee dedicates a small exhibition to this artist and pioneer of woodcarving in the Salzkammergut, which can be seen from July 9 during the museum's opening hours. Museum Ebensee: Opening hours and viewing of the exhibition: July 9 - October 3, 2026: Thu-Sun 1-4 PM Guided tours for groups by telephone...
