Bat Night for Children in the Botanical Garden

Bat Night for Children in the Botanical Garden

Friday 21 August · 17:00Botanischer Garten · oberoesterreich

What's it about?

Bats "see" with their ears and fly with their hands. We rarely notice these mammals with their extremely exciting way of life, as they are out and about at dusk and at night. All native bats hunt and orient themselves with the help of ultrasonic echolocation, which is not perceptible to humans. With bat detectors, which convert the high-frequency calls of bats into sounds audible to us, we go on a search for the small, flying insectivores during a walk through the Botanical Garden.Speaker: Julia Kropfberger from Naturschutzbund OÖ. and the Coordination Office for Bat Protection and Research in AustriaFor children aged 8-12, accompaniment required. In the seminar room and outdoorsMin. 5, max. 20 childrenBring flashlights!Registration: Registration: 0732 7070 0, wissensturm@mag.linz.atOnline registration: VHS-Kursprogramm | Wissensturm Linz (21.8.)/VHS-Kursprogramm | Wissensturm Linz (22.8.)21.8.: Course number 26.22815 / 22.8.: Course number 26.22820In cooperation with the Volkshochschule Linz
