A guided tour of the large painted windows in Mariendom Linz. Be impressed by the over 40 large painted windows in Mariendom! In addition to religious depictions, these also tell the building history of the cathedral, as well as the origins and legends of many Upper Austrian municipalities and parishes. Unique in this ensemble is the wonderful colorfulness of the tower rose window, which, hidden behind the large Rudigier organ, is reached via the inner gallery at a height of approx. 14 m. View the impressive painted windows of the inner gallery up close and also receive explanations on the production of these artworks and the painting technique. The Tyrolean Glass Painting Institute was responsible for the windows in the nave and transept. The windows of the tower chapels were designed by Atelier Rauhkamp. Designs by the artist Karl Martin Hartmann replace the windows in the chapel ring that were destroyed in the war. Please note: The number of participants is limited. The meeting point for the tour is the DomCenter, located directly on Domplatz.
