What's it about?

90 Years of People & Work in the Tabakfabrik Linz (1935-2025) The (interactive) exhibition takes place at the "Marktplatz" (CASABLANCA building, entrance B1, barrier-free or via the spiral staircase) and on the Peter-Behrens-Band. It is freely accessible and free of charge. Opening hours: Weekdays 09:00 -17:00 Saturday: 10:00 – 16:00 Sunday / Public holiday: closed Visitors of all ages are welcome. The exhibition can be visited with children (accompanied). The exhibition is barrier-free (ramp at the main entrance in the CASABLANCA building, then to the lift). There are no fixed guided tours through the exhibition. Please feel free to explore independently and experience the history of the Tabakfabrik up close at the interactive stations. To the OVERVIEW (Folder as PDF) DIRECTIONS 90 Years of Smoke & Sound: A Journey Through the History of Tabakfabrik Linz The Tabakfabrik Linz invites you to the exhibition "90 Years of Smoke & Sound". Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of this unique place, whose roots go back to the Wollzeugfabrik (1672-1850) and where smoking and chewing tobacco have been produced since 1850. From 1929, the buildings we know today were gradually constructed (architects: Peter Behrens and Alexander Popp). On November 12, 1935, the newly built Tabakfabrik Linz went into operation. The "Behrensband" on the first floor (start CASABLANCA building, entrance A) leads through nine decades of eventful history.
