UMAMI, the anniversary show of the Aureum Saxophon Quartet. The Aureum Saxophon Quartet is considered one of Austria's leading saxophone ensembles in the field of classical crossover. With unconventional programming, numerous concert appearances both domestically and abroad, and multiple award-winning projects, the four musicians have secured a place in the local cultural scene. Now, the ensemble is celebrating its 10th anniversary and presents the anniversary show UMAMI, a production that goes far beyond a traditional concert. For this extraordinary project, the ensemble has enlisted prominent support: internationally successful director and choreographer Ferdinando Chefalo is on board for the overall artistic design. His experience in musical theater, dance, and show staging gives the production a dimension that transcends usual concert conventions. It is a multi-layered stage show that combines humor, energy, and depth, engaging the senses on multiple levels — just like the titular, hard-to-define flavor! Musically, Aureum remains true to the program title: genre boundaries are deliberately dissolved. Tradition meets modernity: Viennese Schrammel music with contemporary sounds, Antonín Dvořák with Sting. Personal arrangements and compositions create a distinctive and unique sound. The result simply tastes... UMAMI!
