On August 26, 1956, the chamber orchestra founded by violinists Wolfgang Schneiderhan and Rudolf Baumgartner played its inaugural concert. Shortly before their 70th birthday, the world-famous Festival Strings Lucerne, with their artistic director Daniel Dodds, are making a stop in Grafenegg – with a fantastic program: Elgar's early Serenade for Strings combines pastoral-elegiac idyll with playfulness, while Mozart's "Jupiter" Symphony conceals melancholic traits behind its majestic mask. Mozart's Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra is one of his most intimate treasures, ideal for the exquisite duo from the ranks of the Vienna Philharmonic, principal flutist Karl-Heinz Schütz and principal harpist Anneleen Lenaerts.
