Audience favourite Heinz Marecek treats his audience to a very special programme: This afternoon, the great opera and music connoisseur takes us into the world of prima donnas and the three, four or five tenors. He reports on mishaps, bizarre antics and roaring laughter in thoroughly tragic moments on the concert and opera stages of this world, allowing the audience only brief moments to breathe between the staccato punchlines. In "Anecdotes to Notes", Heinz Marecek tells of involuntarily comical moments from a bygone era and, not least, of a classical music scene that sometimes takes itself far too seriously. Pianist Florian Krumpöck performs some of Franz Liszt's most famous and virtuosic opera fantasies and opera paraphrases, in which one sometimes imagines hearing an entire orchestra plus choir and soloists.
