Extreme sports in Styria: On August 29 and 30, 2026, the best lumberjacks from Austria, Germany and Switzerland will meet. The grand finale of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® DACH Series will be held in Schladming.STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® is an international competitive series in lumberjacking, in which men and women participate. Its roots lie in Australia and New Zealand, Canada and the USA. In national and international competitions, athletes compete in up to three axe and three saw disciplines. Logs must either be chopped through or discs sawn off - and always as quickly as possible. Springboard, Underhand Chop and Standing Block Chop are among the classic axe competitions.
