What's it about?
When the Tonkünstler Orchestra plays pop songs and the audience becomes singers themselves, it creates not only a unique karaoke experience but also mass euphoria. This great participatory format between orchestra and audience will also be experienced in St. Pölten in 2027! The principle of this format, initiated by Matthias von Hartz, could not be simpler: the orchestra rehearses pop songs suitable for karaoke from The Beatles to Beyoncé with conductor Jan Dvořák, visitors choose their song and then sing it with accompaniment by the Tonkünstler Orchestra. Matthias von Hartz has been the Artistic Director of the Zurich Theater Spectacle since 2018 and is the originator of the orchestra karaoke, which rethinks participatory music formats. With a broad range of work from performative projects to full-length operas, Jan Dvořák works as a composer and conductor at the intersection of various arts.
