Trotting up close... The harness racing track in Baden bei Wien is considered the most beautiful historic summer racetrack in Europe; the harness racing club was founded back in 1892. As the financially well-off public from Vienna was drawn to the south during the summer months, the idea arose at that time to organize harness races in Baden. The first race day was held in 1893, and in 1895 the club then held the "Championship of Europe" for the first time, which immediately developed into the most important race on the continent and annually saw the elite of European trotters at the start. Even today, the public is as close to the fast racehorses as nowhere else. On Sunday, August 23rd, from 3:30 PM, the Championship for five- and six-year-old Austrian trotters and other exciting harness races are on the program! Four catering establishments and a wine stand provide culinary variety; entertainment is provided on every race day.
