What's it about?

At our Cheese & Wine Seminar, the gourmet worlds of the most famous cheese types are presented with the finest Weinviertel wine varieties in the traditional ambience of our centuries-old press house in the Pillichsdorf cellar lane. After an overview of the history of the Weinviertel and viticulture, as well as the cellar lane culture, the region-specific characteristics of the soil and climate of the Weinviertel are discussed. A cellar tour takes place, and afterwards, under the guidance of an expert sommelier, participants taste and learn about the harmonized delicacies of cheese and wine. The course content ranges from tradition, production, and varietal knowledge of cheese and wine to sensory analysis, culminating in a convivial presentation with a professionally commented tasting of a cheese platter with 8 types of cheese. We serve suitable regional wines from Pillichsdorf.
