What's it about?
The Silk Road was never just a route for goods. It was a stream of stories, sounds, and ideas - a place where cultures met, clashed, and changed. Music, art, language: Everything is on the move, everything remains in motion. And that's exactly where the project around musician Oliver Steger begins. But instead of the big, loud trade route, SILK PATH 4 follows a quieter path that leaves room for nuances. Did you know, for example, that Shanghai was a stronghold of Western (jazz) music in the 1930s? The quartet knows and lives it: In their music, Chinese melodies and lyrics meet jazz harmonies and modern grooves. The familiar is shifted, the accustomed is heard anew. A musical exchange that doesn't explain, but wants to be experienced. "Off the beaten Track" is in our Fortune Cookie today, and we won't miss out on this wisdom - be curious!
