Virtuosic, sensitive, and with a fine sense of rhythm, Sina Shaari and Claudio Spieler build bridges between different musical worlds. Oud player and guitarist Sina Shaari moves beyond classical Persian music and incorporates influences from classical, jazz, world music, chamber music, and rock into his playing. Claudio Spieler, as a percussionist, combines sound languages from South Indian and Afro-Cuban music with flamenco, jazz, and even Icelandic folk — a broad musical horizon that keeps the sound constantly in motion. In collaboration, this soundscape expands even further: with the internationally renowned Setar player and composer Massoud Shaari, another voice rooted deeply in Persian tradition joins in. His musical language is lyrical, multi-layered, and characterized by great improvisational clarity — opening additional sonic depths and colors for the ensemble. Thus, a trio emerges that moves beyond fixed genre boundaries: a lively, open musical body in which different traditions meet and merge. The starting point is thematically based original compositions that leave plenty of room for spontaneous dialogues, improvised encounters, and individual sound languages, where past and present flow together seamlessly.
