Erra / Currents
What's it about?
THE SILENCE FOLLOWS TOUR 2026 Currents Currents do not make compromises either creatively or philosophically. As if they were taming chaos with their bare hands, the quintet from Connecticut - Brian Wille [vocals], Chris Wiseman [guitar], Ryan Castaldi [guitar], Matt Young [drums], and Christian Pulgarin [bass] - creates a balance between inventiveness and intensity, defying all expectations and simultaneously pushing the boundaries of heavy music. Following an inner creative compass, the group continues to forge a unique path that is unmatched. Swinging along an axis between extreme hardness and captivating melody, this path reaches a new peak with their 2025 EP "All That Follows." Liberating themselves from expectations and rules, it represents both a characteristic work and a natural step into new territory. ERRA people are often in a constant state of change, caught between the past and the present, between different emotions, between the end of one thing and the beginning of another. This is a recurring theme on "silence outlives the earth," ERRA's seventh album. In the eleven songs of the album, the Birmingham, Alabama-based quintet explores all these conflicts as well as the distance that exists between them. The band, founded in 2009, has always contrasted violent aggression with calming contemplation in their music. "silence outlives the earth" is the clearest example so far of the band's musical and thematic sharpness. From the first note, it is an album that exists in a self-created border zone and explores what it means to be in between. The existential, contemplative character of these songs is complemented by the mystical, ethereal mood of their quieter moments — but there is also plenty of destructive catharsis.
