Birgit Denk & Die Novaks 'Der Papa wird’s schon richten', a song by Gerhard Bronner, continues to serve as a symbol for corruption. Who knows the origin? What is behind the story? The wonderful musical family silver of this country is brought out of the drawer again by the singer and entertainer, together with her band and two string players, and polished to a high gloss, presented with joy. 'Die Denk' has already successfully brought songs around Cissy Kraner and Hugo Wiener, the grievances of 1950s cabaret, to audiences at concerts, on TV, and on recordings. During her research, she came across songs that were created many decades ago and that have a great impact in our time when performed. Hermann Leopoldi, as a star before and after World War II, is musically honored. Some Georg Kreisler titles are also reinterpreted. Of course, we do not want to omit Cissy Kraner, Helmut Qualtinger, and Gerhard Bronner. The originals are quoted, but they are given fresh wind through new instrumentation and arrangements. Some musical 'Easter eggs' are hidden for connoisseurs. A joyful musical program of what seems to be past Viennese wine-drunk revelry, Schmäh (witty banter), and exposed petty bourgeoisie.
