Once upon a time, there was a wizard named Merlin, who was destined to lead humanity into evil. But he defied his mission and appointed Arthur as king, thereby founding a Round Table as a place of equality for justice. However, the utopia began to falter when the knights of the Round Table clashed over power conflicts, betrayal, and sordid affairs, and the new generation—embodied by Sir Mordred—ultimately questioned all previous moral standards... Based on the epic of Merlin, King Arthur, and the Round Table, Tankred Dorst and Ursula Ehler tell a fairy tale about the failure of utopias in this theater piece completed in 1980. ... And if they haven't died, they are still searching for the good in the world today.
