What's it about?
Johann Nestroy's 'Verkehrte Welt': The speculator Mr. von Goldfuchs on the first floor loses his fortune and must declare bankruptcy, while the penniless day laborer Adolf Schlucker on the ground floor becomes a wealthy man after an unexpected inheritance. Also, matters of love are chaotic in the rental house of Mr. Zins. There is no talk of orderly conditions. Johann Nestroy's musical satire about the whims of luck was a sensational stage success after its premiere in 1835: no one had ever seen two stories simultaneously on one stage before. To this day, this idea provides a compelling image of the dialectic between abundance and scarcity. Directed by: Bastian Kraft Stage design: Peter Baur Costumes: Inga Timm Sound design: Robin Gillard Video: Jasmin Kruezi Music: Alexander Xidi, Christof Choreography & body work: Sabina Perry Lighting: Marcus Loran Dramaturgy: Jeroen Versteele
