(R)-Evolution : Julian Walder & Elias Praxmarer

What's it about?

Julian Walder, an emerging Viennese violinist with Tyrolean roots and international appeal, presents the album (R)-Evolution together with the renowned Tyrolean organist Elias Praxmarer. The album was released by the classical label Capriccio. Highlights include solo violin works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Eugène Ysaÿe, showcasing the groundbreaking development of violin playing. Conceptually carefully selected pieces by Tomaso Antonio Vitali and Josef Gabriel Rheinberger explore the dialogue possibilities between violin and organ across the centuries, extending to the meditative sound worlds of Arvo Pärt and Astor Piazzolla, the founder of 'Tango Nuevo'. The evening is complemented by organ music from Louis Vierne and Anton Bruckner, demonstrating the potential of the new organ in the Spitalskirche. An evening full of youthful exuberant virtuosity and rich sound colors.
