Christoph Strasser has been participating in ultra-cycling races since 2002 and developed into the world's number 1 in the years that followed. His records and victories at the Race Across America are material for the history books. After a total of 9 starts and 6 victories in the toughest ultracycling race in the world, Strasser sought a new challenge: Ultracycling Unsupported. Completely on his own and equipped only with a racing bike and the most necessary utensils, Strasser set off for a new challenge. And he found it. The Transcontinental Race, thousands of kilometers across Europe, was just a few years ago a utopia in the mind of the exceptional Styrian athlete. In contrast to the goals already achieved, which Strasser always experienced with his team, Unsupported races, as the name suggests, take place without support, without a team. Although, in addition to the physical strain, the organizational part in advance is added, in which he has to plan the route, the catering or even the sleep strategy on a route of up to 5000 kilometers himself, Unsupported races are ultimately about one thing: moving forward. Christoph Strasser takes his audience on a very personal and athletic journey. How did the first part of his athletic existence influence the second part? How has he grown as a person and what learnings does he take from the past 20 years of ultracycling to overcome personal and athletic challenges? This multi-media lecture features images and videos of the biggest defeats and the most beautiful victories. It's about records, humorous stories and how every person in the room can take their very own progress into their own hands and positively influence it based on the content of the lecture.
