Wild Scene at the Lake – Experience the Red Deer Rut from a Boat When autumn arrives and the evenings at Weissensee grow cooler, one of the most impressive natural spectacles of the year begins: the red deer rut. The distinctive roaring of the stags echoes across the water from the surrounding forests, creating a special, almost mystical atmosphere. Together with our nature park rangers, you will experience this natural event from an extraordinary perspective: from a boat. At dusk, we silently cruise across the lake to selected observation points. The calm water allows for an especially intense perception of the rutting calls – without disturbing the animals. During the guided boat tour, you will learn exciting facts about the biology of red deer, their behavior during the rutting season, and the importance of a healthy natural and cultural landscape. High-quality Swarovski binoculars will help you, with a bit of luck, to observe wildlife in the twilight.
