Exhibition of Fine Art: Unbounded Perception "Taboo - Body - Image"

What's it about?

Magdalena Frey is a photo and video artist. Through the lens of the camera, she directs her gaze from the outside onto the female form. Through her female-influenced thinking, which is aware of the history of the male gaze on women throughout (art) history, she sensitively points to the fragility of self-understanding that arises when self-perception is assumed to have to adapt to rules that contradict one's own feelings. Kunstverein Grünspan is dedicated to the dialogue between generations of contemporary female artists. With Iris Kohlweiss and Hanna Hollmann, we are showing two artists who, in contrast to Magdalena Frey, work graphically. Magdalena Frey and her generation of women, who began to name what was previously a taboo, can look with her characteristic calm at the next generation of female artists, who feel secure. And more sheltered than the women of previous generations.
