That the waltz-intoxicated "Duidu, Duidu" and its relaxed counterpart "Dudidubidu" are actually only a stone's throw, not much more than "a warm embracing dance away" from each other - that has been clear to the masters of Mnozil Brass for ages. For more than thirty years, the seven virtuosos have been effortlessly cruising with their gleaming brass instruments between Johann Strauss and Frank Sinatra, between Shostakovich and Prince, or passionately from Schubert over to their kindred spirits Queen. The solemn sublimity of one side bothers them as little as the supposed banality of the other. But Strauss - whom Brahms, Wagner and Verdi, as well as the craftsmen and the girls from the suburbs (and even a Gershwin) ardently adored - he was the progenitor of nonchalant dalliance between chairs. Strauss was the first to produce hits by the meter, he hired an arranger to work faster and understood that he could reproduce his sound worldwide with his brothers. He was the first to subvert E and U and became a mass phenomenon as the Waltz King - the cash registers never jingled sweeter. In Strau$$, Mnozil Brass now really reveals everything about Strau$$. Even the last detail. In the end, nothing remains but the naked truth. A project commission from Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna
