What's it about?

More than 30 years ago, the Bauernmarkt (farmers' market) was founded under chairwoman Roswitha Zankl. For over 25 years, 'Liplbauer' Albert Jank served as the market chairman, and in 2020, the role was handed over to a younger generation: 'Martinzenbauer' Wolfram Pernull now leads the market association. The Christmas market offers regional products from agricultural family farms — Gailtaler ham, sausages, bread, eggs, Gailtaler alpine cheese, schnapps, honey, vegetables, Carinthian noodles, fresh meat from beef, pork, game, and lamb, or fish. The team is especially proud of the community spirit and the lived togetherness. Only when everyone pulls together can our farmers continue to supply the population with high-quality food and enliven our town with the colorful market activity, even in times of crisis.
