From June 28 to August 30, 2026, Ossiach Abbey Church invites you to a multifaceted summer of music that consciously builds bridges between generations. A dynamic focus is on modern, rhythmic sacred music: The group Kayama with Elvira Wadl, as well as the award-winning musician Horst Lippitsch (Funkmania Radio Award 2025) and Smarty Joe, provide contemporary sounds in the sacred space.Lovers of Baroque music can look forward to a brilliant program with "Festa Italiana" under Fritz Kircher and selected early Baroque organ music, combining southern joie de vivre and meditative depth. The Ossiach Ensemble celebrates a mass by the Neapolitan Francesco Durante. A special highlight is dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 270th birthday. Under the direction of Johannes Hiemetsberger, the "Company of Music" will perform the genius's solemn Missa brevis in G as part of the Carinthian Summer. Two further Mozart masses will be performed by the Klagenfurt Ensemble with Michael Wandaller and the Mixed Choir Ossiach with Alois Gaggl. The Pilgerklang Ensemble under the direction of Karl Schnitzer complements the program with a homage to the historic pilgrimage route from Carniola to Gurk. A summer full of musical excellence in the special atmosphere of the Abbey Church.
