What's it about?

Since the premiere of the St. Pauler Kultursommer in 1980, the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) has been a valued and always anticipated guest of our festival with an orchestral concert. Year after year, this international training institute brings young, highly talented musicians to Graz and enriches the St. Pauler Kultursommer with musical freshness, passion, and impressive professionalism. This year, for the second time, the concert will be conducted by the internationally sought-after Austrian conductor Patrick Hahn. Together with the large AIMS Symphony Orchestra, he will focus this evening on Béla Bartók's "Concerto for Orchestra" – that virtuosic and colorful masterpiece that gives every instrument of the orchestra soloistic brilliance.
