What's it about?

The mostly "trivialized" material will this time be told in its original form as a fairy tale for growing children and adults. The well-known story tells of the transformation of a "mermaid" into an earth dweller and finally the transformation into an "air creature". Only the renunciation of violence opens up a world to the mermaid that she had not known before. Thus, at the end, she bears the wounds of her "self-sacrifice", but gains the ability to move in various worlds. Andersen's literary fairy tale, interpreted today, offers the possibility of including a wide variety of "worlds and people" in the project. An "underwater world" populated by sea creatures, mermaids, corals, jellyfish, sea monsters, witches and fantasy creatures makes gender assignments and categories such as "disabled" and "non-disabled" difficult to impossible. In the "upper world" inhabited by princes, kings, temple servants and a bizarre court, this "blurriness" continues. Finally, "spherical air creatures" also appear. We see Hans Christian Andersen's romantic fairy tale as an invitation to see and respect living beings - whether human or animal - for what they are: Living beings!
