What's it about?
The Future of the Original In the end, the festival motto becomes the starting point for this third and final podium: The epochal change initiated by AI, at best, leads to a new perspective on what is genuinely human, on the "originality" of our creativity, ideas, and actions. The Future Of Original? – What remains of humans when machines write, compose, design, and make decisions? What makes an idea, a thought, a decision, an action a human "original"? What do we even understand by "originality" – and why is it so significant for our future? The concluding podium of the FöN Festival takes up the motto and brings together the major themes. Our thesis: The epochal change brought about by Artificial Intelligence, of which we are contemporary witnesses, at best also leads to a different view of what is genuinely human – of the "real" world and of our needs, which, apart from algorithms, demand hand, physicality, emotionality, and participation. To look differently also at what has always set the creative heart of human evolution in motion and incessantly produces the cultural universe that surrounds us – good and bad. Together with people from science, design, business, art, and culture, we ask what the "digital humanism" of tomorrow will reveal itself to be. What special qualities characterize human creation. What role imagination, experience, and attitude play in this. Why "originality" has less to do with genius and much more with social skills such as attention, collaboration, empathy, and commitment, and with the basic rule of all creative work: to constantly want to see and change the world anew. – In short: The last podium of this festival aims to show why we humans will still be needed as creative "originals" in the future.
