What's it about?
When one of the best beatboxers in the country meets two cellists, something emerges that defies usual categories. Cemplified and Samuel Plieger combine two sound worlds into a set that moves between rock, rhythm, and reduction – direct, physical, and without electronic effects. Plieger works exclusively with voice and microphone. The classically trained cellists Julian Walkner and Peter Polzer play 18th-century instruments – in addition to their own compositions, pieces by Deep Purple, the Rolling Stones, and Queen are reinterpreted. What emerges here is not a crossover, but a musical approach that opens new doors.
