What's it about?
Exhibition CLAUS PROKOP … or The Love of Geometry This autumn, Galerie Walker dedicates a comprehensive show to the Carinthian artist Claus Prokop with the exhibition "… or The Love of Geometry" in its Schloss Ebenau. His characteristic large and small-format painterly works on aluminium and wood grounds interact with installative works and a large-format sculpture in the castle garden*. The exhibition title refers to Max Frisch's play "Don Juan or The Love of Geometry". Just as Frisch was less interested in the myth than in the cultural image of Don Juan, Prokop also focuses not on geometry as a mathematical system of order, but on the ideas associated with it. His works combine digital construction with manual execution and show that behind geometric forms there can be much more than order and precision. Claus Proko...
