"in my mind / love’s gonna make us blind..." Who doesn't know this song by the Viennese band WALLERNS, who with their Dream-Pop have been among the stars of the Austrian music scene for years. Their warm songs are like good friends you can call at any time, like a protective cover when you no longer quite understand the world outside. The credo of their debut album "End of Circles": It is okay to accept things. Wallners are Anna (vocals), Laurenz (piano), Nino (guitar), and Max (bass), four siblings from Vienna, and they understand each other musically without many words. "With the young band Wallners, sensuality returns to Austrian pop," wrote "Die Zeit" — and found in the band's sound a counterpoint to the broad-mindedness and irony often found in Vienna's indie scene. And German film director Christian Petzold was just working on the screenplay for his successful film "Roter Himmel" (Red Sky) when he heard "in my mind" on the radio and immediately realized he would use the song as a song for the film. The sensual beauty of Wallners' sound is full of calm and wistful serenity. Their live concerts offer a space- and time-transcending experience that should not be missed.
