What's it about?

The city of Bleiburg has dedicated a monographic museum to painter Werner Berg (1904-1981) since 1968. The representative house on Bleiburg's main square has since become a magnet for art lovers from around the world. It displays the artist's oeuvre, whose artistic starting point was German Expressionism, in a unique interaction of art and environment in the heart of his region of origin. With the annually changing exhibitions, there is always an attempt to find a thematic dialogue between Werner Berg's work and the respective special exhibition. Werner Berg's art is thus made accessible to repeat visitors under constantly new perspectives.
