What's it about?
The Wiesenmarkt - Southern Carinthia's largest and oldest traditional fair The Bleiburger Wiesenmarkt is a traditional fair that has taken place annually in Bleiburg since 1393. For some time now, it has been held around St. Giles' Day (September 1st) on four consecutive days and is considered Lower Carinthia's largest event of its kind. An exhibition of agricultural machinery is also included, which underlines the regional economic importance of this event. The Bleiburger Wiesenmarkt, by its nature, presents itself as both traditional and forward-looking. From the doughnut stand to the disco tent, the natural skittle alley to the high-tech amusement ride, from the Ferris wheel to the petting zoo - the Wiesenmarkt has something to offer for all tastes! The stands in the Krämermarkt (merchants' market) and in the trade exhibition are open from approximately 9 AM until nightfall.
