On the platform Read by: Hugo Ramnek Music by: Arthur Ottowitz For the collection "Am Bahnsteig" (On the Platform), Hugo Ramnek and Wolfram Schneider-Lastin invited around thirty authors to write a train station story. Because a train station is more than just a place where trains arrive and depart; it is a hub of seemingly everyday, surprising, fateful, and touching stories. Whether it is a bustling main station, a shabby suburban station, or a remote request-stop, joy and pain meet on the same platform, in Zurich just as in Mumbai, Tokyo — or Bleiburg/Pliberk. Hugo Ramnek, born in 1960 in Klagenfurt, studied German and English literature in Vienna and Dublin, and lives in Zurich.
