What's it about?

In the Ausseerland Salzkammergut, the Krampus tradition has a long history and shapes the special atmosphere of the pre-Christmas season. The Jugendkrampus (youth Krampus) in the town center of Bad Mitterndorf keeps this cultural heritage alive and offers young Krampuses the opportunity to actively participate in regional customs. With enthusiasm, courage, and commitment, the young Krampuses march through the town and help make the unique atmosphere of the Krampus season tangible. Not only are the impressive masks and traditional Krampus costumes central, but also the solidarity within the community and the joy of preserving old customs together. The Jugendkrampus is an important part of regional cultural preservation and allows young people to learn about and actively continue the traditional practices. This helps preserve the cultural heritage of the Ausseerland Salzkammergut and pass it on to future generations. Meeting point: The meeting point for the Jugendkrampus is at 6:30 PM in the town center of Bad Mitterndorf. Suitable for: Youths born between 2010 and 2017 can participate in the Jugendkrampus in Bad Mitterndorf.
