Phytonauts Mission: Dawn Redwood & Douglas Fir For the first time, the Phytonauts are distilling two trees simultaneously: Dawn Redwood meets Douglas Fir. What happens when these two plants go through our giant copper still 'Dicke Berta' together? A premiere experiment between botany, scent, technology, and the subtle plant world. About the event Two trees. One still. A new plant water. The premiere: Dawn Redwood meets Douglas Fir For the first time, the Phytonauts dare a special experiment: We distill two different trees simultaneously. The Dawn Redwood botanically a living fossil and survivor from a long-past geological era stands for growth, constancy, and an almost timeless tranquility. The Douglas Fir, on the other hand, brings the freshness and clarity of the mountain forest. Its scent is bright, woody, and invigorating. What happens when these two different plants go through our large steam distiller together? That's exactly what we want to find out. For whom? For people who find plants exciting, who have always wanted to know how distillation works, who are interested in essential oils and hydrolates, who like to experience things themselves instead of just listening, who want to look at nature from a different perspective. No prior knowledge required.
